57584. Laurens Sveinsson [Blix]202 * 1436 (approximately), Kluxåsen, Näs, Jämtland (Z) † 1516 (after), Kluxåsen, Näs, Jämtland (Z) H: Bonde (farmer) in Kluxåsen, Näs, Jämtland (Z), and lagrättsman (lawman). Laurens Sveinsson is the oldest known progenitor for the priest family Blix in Jämtland, which was one of the wealthiest families in central and northern Sweden (Norrland) during the following centuries. Laurens Sveinsson purchased Hovdsjö from Sigurd Sigurdsson Ryss, who was tremänning (syssling) to Laurens wife Margit Johansdotter. “The oldest known member of the Blix family is Magnus Blixe, mentioned in 1410. Laurens Sveinsson, born around 1435 and dead around 1516, was son of Svein in Toresås, who is probably identital to Sven in Östnår, Hackås. It is possible that Svein (Laurensson) in Toresås (Östnår) is son of Laurens Jonsson Blix, brother of Magnus Blix. The name of Laurens wife is not known. This Laurens Sveinsson belonged to a very well-reputed family in Jämtland och belonged to den jämtländska knapeadel (nobility). Laurens lived on his farm Kloxåsen for fifty years and was one of the largest skinnexportörerna (fur exporters) in Jämtland and owner of several farms in the county” (S: Sven Schylberg). Laurens bought 1514-08-09 the estate Berge in Lockne socken for 100 mark silver. Laurens Svensson married Margit (Margareta), the maternal ancestress or progenitor (stammoder) of the Blix family and one of two daughters of Johan Sigurdsson, who got half of her father’s jordagods (land properties), who was still alive, and half of his capital as a wedding gift in 1465, and, according to gåvobrevet (the gift letter), she had received 30 jämtska mark “i hemanfylghe” or hemgift (dowry) at the her wedding (S: DN III 870, DN XIV 234 [1532]; Hasselberg, 1930, Jämten, p.87, Ahnlund, p.496). It has been suggested that among the more well-known contemporary descendants we find the actor Ingmar Bergman and the former UN weapons inspector Hans Blix (S: Nordenstam, 2003).
